Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation has received a $25,000 grant from The Orton Foundation, the North Carolina affiliate of Louis Bacon's Moore Charitable Foundation, for the hospital's Emergency Department, which treats more than 13,000 patients per year, and which has earned two national awards for providing high patient satisfaction. The funds from this latest grant will go toward the purchase of a portable ultrasound machine.

The Orton Foundation, an affiliate of The Moore Charitable Foundation founded by Louis Bacon in 1992, focuses on protecting the Cape Fear River Basin's unique wetlands, lands, forest and wildlife habitats. The Orton Foundation also supports educational, health care and community programs in the region.
