"Heart to Heart" Event

Dear "Heart to Heart" Supporter,

Join us as we continue to learn how to take care of our hearts and increase access to healthy and nutritious food in our community by supporting the "Give Healthy" campaign. Please bring a heart healthy food with you using the "Give Healthy" list provided below. These items will be donated to our local food pantry to ensure everyone in our community has access to nutritious food!

It's that time again, and we are so excited about the opportunity to continue educating our community about the risk of heart disease. Last year's Heart to Heart event was a huge success and we were able to educate and offer free cholesterol and HDL testing to over 200 attendees. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women and is more deadly than all forms of cancer. We need your help to make an even greater impact on the lives of those threatened with heart disease and food insecurity. This event will support the equipment needs of our Cardiac Rehabilitation program and provide heart healthy foods to our local food pantry.

On Thursday, February 6th, the Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation will hold the "Heart to Heart" event at the St. James Community Center, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. The program includes heart health education and a Special guest that will be announced at a later date, but you will not want to miss it! Participate in Silent and Live Auction with great items that you will not want to miss. Includes light hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds will benefit the Dosher Hospital Foundation and the Dosher Hospital Cardiac Rehab Department.

Please bring one of the heart healthy items below with you to the event.

Lean proteins like nuts, low sodium and all-natural peanut butter, dry beans or low-sodium canned beans and canned chicken or seafood packed in water.

Fresh fruits and vegetables. If canned, items should be in either 100 percent water or 100 percent juice with no added salt and/or no added sugar.

Low sodium (500 milligrams or less) soups that include vegetables and have at least two grams of fiber.

Pasta, rice, cereal and breads with the first ingredient listed as whole grain or whole wheat with no added sugar or very low sugar (less than eight grams per serving).

We invite you to join us with your support as a Gold, Silver or Friend Sponsor. The levels and costs are listed below. Thank you for your consideration of our request.
