Executive Director - Brunswick Wellness Coalition
Serves in a leadership role in the community for capacity building, direction and leadership of the Brunswick Wellness Coalition (BWC) at the individual, community and policy level. The Director will manage and fulfill all requirements for the Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas program as well as lead all functions of the broader Brunswick Wellness Coalition. Must have both the vision and skills to enable the coalition to collectively identify and sustain successful health and wellness programs and grow and adapt to changing environments.
The individual must have demonstrated results in community development through the Collective Impact model and skilled in the identification of partnerships, collaboration, planning, evaluation, quality improvement, and resource development.
The Brunswick Wellness Coalition is dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the residents of Brunswick County. This initiative will create local strategies based on the communityÃ¢ï¿½ï¿½s needs. This work is primarily a part of the Healthy People, Healthy Carolina's Initiative to implement proven strategies for health and wellness for the people of Brunswick County but may encompass other areas that impact health accordingly.
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Successfully engage diverse groups in order to facilitate the planning and implementation of community health and wellness strategies that relate to the Community Health Assessment, Healthy People, Healthy Carolina's mission and additional community priorities
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Schedule, organize and facilitate onsite and electronic meetings that bring together all local coalition members and leaders
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Meet regularly with community organizations to exchange information about national, state and local health and wellness priorities to increase advocacy, access to care, public awareness and education
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Assist community coalition leaders to address and resolve barriers and problems to reach the overall goal and identified strategies
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Collect data and develop metrics across sectors for outcomes, program effectiveness and interconnectedness
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Work with the Coalition and fiduciary agent to submit a proposed annual budget and regular financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the coalition.
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health and growth and sustainability of the coalition, including grant writing and management, and business case development.
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Coordinate ongoing professional development and technical assistance for community coalition members and increase coalition capacity
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Promote interdisciplinary activities among medical, behavioral and community based agency professionals and programs in the community
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Research, write and publicize issue briefs highlighting success stories of community coalition initiatives for funders, partners and the general public
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Establish and maintain an effective partnership with the Healthy People, Healthy Carolina's team and other funders and meet grant deliverables.
Master's Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in areas relevant to community coalition building. At least three years of applicable experience in community development, planning, primary prevention, health promotion, public policy, data collection and evaluation and quality improvement strategies.

Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Demonstrated report writing and facilitation skills
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Experience effectively marketing and branding programs
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Grant writing and management
Ã¢ï¿½Â¢ Travel by car throughout the state an average of 5-6 times a year
