Description: This free seminar, given by Dosher Orthopedic Nurse Navigator Chelsea Beard, RN, will help patients know what to expect in several aspects of care with regard to preparing for joint replacement surgery. Become familiar with the hospital and have your questions answered by a highly experienced member of the Dosher OR team. Patients are encouraged to bring a spouse, friend or coach, especially one who will be supporting them through surgery and recovery from their total joint replacement.

Event: Chit Chat and Chocolate Women's Health Event
Location: Indian Trail Meeting Hall 113 W. Moore St. Southport
Description: Dosher Memorial Hospital will hold a women’s health educational event entitled, “Chit Chat and Chocolate” on Wednesday, October 19th from 6-7pm at Indian Trail Meeting Hall, 113 W. Moore Street in downtown Southport. The month of October, with its global focus on breast cancer awareness, has become a time to share information on a variety of issues impacting women’s health. The speaker for this event is Maritza Manrique-Kiniry, MD, Board Certified gynecologist and gynecological surgeon, who practices out of Dosher Medical-Women’s Health in Southport. Dr. Manrique-Kiniry will discuss the latest guidelines for screenings and prevention, what you need to know about mammograms, bone scans, and menopause, and will allot time for questions. Chef Joe Hill from the Dosher Café will give out health friendly chocolate bark to attendees along with the recipe. Other light refreshments will also be served.
