Event: Pause to Give Life: Organ donation awareness event
Location: Hospital Front Entrance
Description: April is National Donate Life Month, and Dosher Memorial Hospital is participating in the Third Annual Pause to Give Life observance on April 6 to honor organ, eye, and tissue donors. We will hold a flag raising at 10:08 am at the front entrance of the hospital, followed by a moment of silence for 30 seconds to recognize the 3,000 patients waiting for a life-saving organ transplant in the state of North Carolina. Why the time of 10:08? Because 1 organ donor can save 8 lives. After our flag raising, a representative from HonorBridge, our organ and tissue donation procurement partner, will be onsite until 1:00 pm to answer questions, hand out information, and help register interested community members in becoming organ donors. Join us as we honor donors and their families, recipients, and those waiting while promoting the mission of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Description: This free seminar will help patients know what to expect in several aspects of care with regard to preparing for joint replacement surgery. Become familiar with the hospital and have your questions answered by a highly experienced member of the Dosher OR team. Patients are encouraged to bring a spouse, friend or coach, especially one who will be supporting them through surgery and recovery from their total joint replacement.
