Dosher Memorial Hospital earned a 5 star patient satisfaction rating on a 0 - 5 scale on our most recent patient experience surveys through the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS)*

The survey upon which this rating system is based is a comprehensive assessment of patient experience, including, but not limited to, questions about:

The admissions process
Responsiveness of hospital staff
Communication with doctors and nurses
Cleanliness of hospital environment
Pain management
Communication about medication
Respect of privacy

What does this mean for our patients?

As exemplified above, patient experience covers a broad range of categories. Therefore, the HCAHPS 5 star rating takes an organizational-wide effort, with everyone, from Hospital Admissions, to our Physicians, our Nursing and Patient Care Unit staff, to Housekeeping, and Plant Operations, being fully invested in the experience of our patients.

Our staff fully supports the culture of excellence, quality, and patient safety that we have cultivated and maintain, and take ownership in ensuring that our patients receive the best care possible. We train employees on best practices, support their continuing education, and measure results, such as the use of the HCAHPS survey, to ensure that we continue to excel in the ever changing landscape of healthcare.
