Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation Establishes Endowment
Release date: May 30, 2023
Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation announces it has established an Endowment investment fund with the purpose of providing essential, long-term support to Dosher Memorial Hospital. Endowments can be established for a specific purpose or for unrestricted general support for Dosher Hospital. Donors can establish an Endowment fund whereby the capital is invested and the income from the donor’s investment is used to support an area of health care. The principal is protected and only the income, or a portion of the income, is expended. There are many ways donors can either contribute to the existing Endowments, or create their own named Endowments. These include giving cash, stock, retirement plan assets, real estate and making pledges or deferred gifts. After the Endowment has been established, additional gifts can be added to the Endowment at any time, either during a donor’s lifetime or through their Estate. Income can be designated according to the donors wishes.
Said Lynda Stanley, President and CEO of Dosher, “The Dosher Foundation’s Endowment Fund will provide an opportunity for our donors to make a lasting impact on local healthcare through the steady source of income that an endowment provides. We are grateful for everyone who supports the Dosher Foundation and the difference they make in our community.”
Antonette (Toni) McAndrews added “Endowments are powerful because they deliver a dependable, perpetual source of funding. To establish an endowment is an investment in the future and makes a difference in our service area.”
The Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation was established and began operating in March of 2010. The Foundation’s primary responsibility is to encourage a steady flow of funds to the hospital from individuals and organization within the hospitals’ service area. These funds enable Dosher Hospital to continue providing its patients with the finest healthcare equipment, programs and services possible, as well as provide the resources necessary for construction expansion and remodeling projects.
