Foundation Development Specialist - Foundation
The specialist advances the mission of the Hospital by increasing the level of involvement and philanthropic commitment of patients and people in the Hospital's service area. The professional position functions as a fund raising generalist with particular emphasis given to the cultivation and solicitation of annual gifts, major gifts, planned gifts, database growth and the management of its integrity, and special events.
Associates Degree Required, 4 year degree strongly preferred. Minimum of two (2) years related experience preferably in a foundation or nonprofit environment.
Functions of the Position:
Manage the day to day operation, oversight, and coordinate the planning process of the Foundation
Provides assistance and performs duties for the President of the Foundation to ensure an efficient, cost-effective operation, using independent judgment and discretion in various confidential issues.
Provides assistance as needed to the Foundation Board of Directors as they carry out their duties by serving as the Board liaison
Develop strong relationships with the Foundation Donors and Volunteers to manage recruitment and recognition
Maintain a harmonious relationship with hospital representatives and an awareness of hospital activities as they relate to positive public relations in fundraising.
Manage all standing committees of the Foundation Board
Communicates and responds effectively and appropriately to a variety of telephone and mail inquiries relative to marketing, public relations, community outreach
Assist with development of operating budget and monitor budget execution making recommendations for adjustments
Prepare and / or assist with preparation of grant proposals
Participate in community organizations and events to enhance positive feelings regarding the Foundation and to help ensure that leaders and decision-makers in the community understand the objectives of the Foundation
Organize and execute fundraising events; cultivate and solicit sponsors and participants
