Chief Nursing Officer - Administration
The Chief Nursing Office is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and represents clinical practice at the board level. This role is responsible for the development and recommendation of effective hospital-wide patient care programs, policies and procedures , and the development and implementation of the hospital’s plan for the provision of patient care, and implementation of an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate and build top outcomes in quality, safety and service

Qualifications:
•A current license in NC as a Registered Nurse
•Graduate of an accredited BSN program required; Master’s degree in health related field preferred
•5 years of Administrative Experience required
•Progressive leadership/ management experience required
•Experience / knowledge of DNV preparation and survey process preferred
•Critical Access Hospital experience preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Ensure that nursing standards are upheld
•Maintain regulatory – compliance approvals and accreditations
•Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance
•Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic plans
•Provide guidance to staff and act as a resource to colleagues
•Prepare and oversee business reports including budgets
•Promote continuous performance improvement, patient safety and risk reduction
•Cultivate relationships across functions and departments across the organization
•Team building with a commitment to developing leaders/staff
•Commitment to education and training for nursing personnel
•Model behavior consistent with the organization’s Standards of Behavior, mission, vision, values and code of conduct
•Adheres to administrative policies and procedures
•Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the organization
•Management of “Swing Bed” program
•Actively engaged with patient care and staff/patient rounding
•Assist in FEMA disaster drills and hospital weather related lockdowns
•Administrative after hours call
