Patient Access Coordinator
The key areas of focus for this position are as follows:
Develop, organize and lead a motivated, multi-functional, and customer-focused Patient Access Team.
Manage the activities of the Patient Service Center including but not limited to Registration, Pre-registration and Bed Assignments.
Utilizes knowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems. Uses skills in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising. Must work effectively with physicians, staff, patients, public and external agencies. Uses skills in gathering and interpreting data. Must have ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving expertise.
High School or equivalent with hospital registration, billing, and collections experience preferred.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments.
Direct staff in the development and production of reports.
Maintains liaison with staff to resolve problems.
Conducts interviews, hire new staff and provide new employee orientation.
Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals.
Prepare daily deposit of receipts
