Dosher Appoints Dr. James Hoffman as Emergency Department Medical Director

Dosher Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. James Hoffman as the Medical Director of their Emergency Department. Dr. Hoffman graduated from Midwestern University Medical School in 2011 and completed his Emergency Medicine residency training in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2014. Following residency, he and his family relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, where he has continued to practice emergency medicine while serving patients throughout the region.

For the past three years, Dr. Hoffman has been a dedicated member of the Dosher Emergency Department team, providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families across the community. In his new role as Medical Director, he will help lead the department’s clinical operations, support staff development, and continue advancing patient care initiatives.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hoffman enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, four children, and their two dogs. Family time, coastal living, and staying active are central to life outside the hospital.
