Dosher Completes Successful School Supply Drive

Donations are for the benefit of students served by Communities In Schools of Brunswick County

Release date: August 21, 2026

The annual “Operation School Supplies” at Dosher Memorial Hospital which took place on Thursday, August 6th collected $120 in monetary donations and just shy of two van loads of backpacks and supplies from generous supporters. All donations were for the benefit of students served by Communities In Schools of Brunswick County.

This event was held in conjunction with the Communities In Schools annual Back to School Supply Drive which takes place each August. Dosher began hosting the school supply drive in 2021 and appreciates the opportunity to support local students through this initiative. Dosher President and CEO Lynda Stanley said, “We are very grateful to everyone who contributed to this year’s school supply drive. The generosity of our staff and community helps make sure local students have the supplies they need to begin the school year ready to learn and succeed. We are proud to partner with Communities In Schools of Brunswick County and support their important work to remove barriers and help students thrive. It is always inspiring to see our community come together to support the children and families who call Brunswick County home.”

CIS Executive Director Bonnie Jordan said, “As the cost of equipping students for a new school year continues to rise, it is more critical than ever that we provide the supplies needed so that all students can start the new school year ready to learn alongside of their peers. The generosity of our community is what makes this possible. The Dosher Memorial Hospital Back to School Supply Drive this year did not disappoint! Once again, our community and the Dosher team came out to support local students. We extend a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who supported this effort. Communities In Schools looks forward to another year serving Brunswick County Schools’ students by removing potential barriers to student success and providing the support needed to help them learn, grow, and thrive.
