Dosher Honors Volunteer Organization at Annual Luncheon
Release date: May 11, 2026
In recognition of National Volunteer Month, Dosher Memorial Hospital recently hosted its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to honor the dedicated individuals who generously give their time and talents in support of patients, families, staff, and the community.
With a Hollywood theme to celebrate Dosher’s superstar volunteers, the luncheon brought together hospital leadership, staff, and volunteers to reflect on the impact volunteers make through their unwavering commitment to enhancing the patient experience and supporting the mission of providing extraordinary care to patients and patient families.
“Volunteers are an essential part of Dosher,” said Dosher CEO Lynda Stanley. “Their kindness, dedication, and willingness to serve help create a welcoming and caring environment for everyone who walks through our doors. We are incredibly grateful for the difference they make every day.”
Dosher volunteers have assisted in numerous areas throughout the hospital, helping to greet visitors, support patient services, and raise funds for programs and equipment through their management of the Dosher Flea Market resale store in downtown Southport and the hospital gift shop, which over time have netted more than $2 million in contributions for the hospital.
National Volunteer Month, observed each April, highlights the importance of volunteerism and recognizes individuals who strengthen communities through service. Dosher Memorial Hospital extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteers whose generosity and dedication continue to positively impact local healthcare.
